Early Entrants May Win an Apple® iPhone® Xs, Google® Pixel® 2XL or Samsung® Galaxy® Note 9

January 2, 2019—There are a little over four months until the 43rd annual Lilac Bloomsday Run, and to help fortify New Year’s resolutions to get in shape, early bird registration for Bloomsday is now open at www.bloomsdayrun.org. Those who sign up by February 10th will have a chance to win either an Apple iPhone Xs, Google Pixel 2XL or Samsung Galaxy Note 9, courtesy of the Lilac Bloomsday Association. (winner gets his or her choice).

“January weather is always a little discouraging,” said Lilac Bloomsday Association President Mark Starr. “But in four months we’ll all be enjoying spring weather and the excitement of running or walking seven-and-a-half miles along the Spokane River.”

Everyone who enters Bloomsday online through February 10th will be automatically entered in the Apple iPhone Xs, Google Pixel 2XL or Samsung Galaxy Note 9 drawing. The early bird drawing has been going on for many years, but allowing the winner to choose between three different items is a new feature.

Those signing up for Bloomsday will also have the opportunity to add a donation to Second Harvest, which has been selected as Bloomsday’s official charity for 2019. Second Harvest provides high-quality food at no cost to families, seniors, and children throughout the Inland Northwest. Donations through the Bloomsday entry process will help provide food assistance to the 55,000 people struggling with food insecurity who turn to a food pantry or meal site each week. In our region 1 in 8 people, including 1 in 5 children, don’t have the resources for or access to enough nutritious food to live a healthy, active life.

“Bloomsday is proud to welcome Second Harvest as our official charity in 2019,” said Starr. “Adding a donation to your Bloomsday entry will help Second Harvest continue their great work of providing food assistance to thousands of our fellow citizens.”

The 43rd Bloomsday will be Sunday, May 5, 2019. Full Bloomsday details will be released in early March, at which time printed entry forms will be available at locations throughout the Inland Northwest.
