Spokane, WAâWith a little over a week until the 32nd running of the Lilac Bloomsday Run, organizers are eagerly seeking volunteers to help with T-shirt distribution, as well as entrants willing to push wheelchair participants.
Â
âThe success of Bloomsday is totally dependent on the support of nearly 5,000 volunteers,â said Bloomsday Race Director Don Kardong. âMost of our volunteer positions donât require much, if any, prior experience, but itâs crucial that we fill all open positions to make sure things proceed smoothly before, during and after the run.â
Â
Those interested in helping at T-shirt Distribution are encouraged to log on to Bloomsdayâs web site (www.bloomsdayrun.org), click the âVolunteersâ button, then âT-Shirt Distributionâ on the drop-down menu. A description of whatâs involved is listed there along with a link to the individual responsible for that area. Anyone willing to push wheelchair entrants who need assistance should contact the Bloomsday office, 838-1579, ext. 10.
Â
âVolunteers for T-Shirt Distribution should log on to the web site and then click on that category,â said Kardong. âThose willing to push wheelchair participants should call our office.â
Â
