Memorable monikers multiply; plenty of notable names in best team name competition

Spokane, WA—Corporate Cup runners may not get a chance to strut their stuff for another four weeks, but a few teams have already made a name for themselves in Bloomsday’s third annual “Best Team Name” competition. This year’s list of finalists (see below) ranges from Career Path Services’ “Will Run for Work” to the National Weather Service’s “No Pain, No Rain” to Washington Trust Bank’s “Move Your Assets.” The top three names will be announced in the Bloomsday Souvenir Results Booklet distributed by The Inlander on Tuesday after the run.

“I think teams are starting to take this contest almost as seriously as race day competition,” said Corporate Cup Chair Carol Hunter. “Clearly a lot of thought went into team name selection this year, and our judges had fun reviewing the list.”

Finalists were selected by a panel that included Bloomsday representatives and sponsors, as well as Spokane Mayor Dennis Hession. Last year the panel selected Bonner General Hospital’s “Follow the Bleeder” as their favorite.

For runners not part of the Corporate Cup Competition, Bloomsday registration is still open for mailed entries until Tuesday, April 18. Online registration is available for the $14.00 fee until Sunday, April 23^rd. After that, the registration fee increases to $30.00, either online (April 24 & 25) or at the Ag Trade Center on Bloomsday weekend.
